The DV Awareness Round is aimed at all members of the community utilising the sport rugby league as an avenue to promote community awareness around domestic violence and its impact on everyone. Activities planned to coincide with Junior and Senior Rugby League being played on the Saturday as part of Club program and on the Gala Day (Friday preceding) for local school students to attend including: educational programs run by the NRL Development Team and volunteer QRL Support Squad members; engaging in activities and dialogues about respect with their coaches, visiting guests, sporting professionals and parents and on game day/s, enhanced by promotional merchandise and giveaways for individuals, schools and local clubs; attendings stalls provided by local stall holders and DV services to build and strengthen local community networks; and local radio station Crow FM attend Club Day to provide a platform to increase awareness of social issues around domestic violence.
